Donald “Dale” Burdge of Oklahoma City, passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2018, in Oklahoma City at the age of 59 years.
Donald “Dale” Burdge was born on January 5, 1959, in Joplin, Missouri. He was the son of Everett and Lillie (Case) Burdge. He grew up in Joplin, Missouri attending Seneca Public Schools. He married Brenda Dye on May 14, 1976 in Joplin, Missouri and they made their home in Joplin. He began his career as a masonry contractor and later began as a general contractor. He began in the ministry as the pastor of Hornet Pentecostal Church in Joplin, Missouri and later Victory Holiness Church in Miami, Oklahoma. He had a deep love for God, his family, and his ministry.
Dale was preceded in death by: his parents; one brother, Russell Burdge and one daughter-in-law, Heather Burdge. He is survived by his wife Brenda Burdge of the home; three sons, Seth Burdge and wife Monica of Edmond, Oklahoma, Ben Burdge and wife Brittney of Oklahoma City, Jared Burdge of Oklahoma City; two daughters, Carisa Gourley and husband Jeremy of Newalla, Oklahoma, Candace Green and husband Nathan of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; fifteen grandchildren; two brothers, Jeff Burdge of Joplin, Missouri and Mark Burdge of Joplin, Missouri; two sisters, Cindy Howard of Springfield, Missouri and Lana Burdge of Joplin, Missouri, plus numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation for Dale will be 4:00pm – 6:00pm, Sunday, March 11, Mt. Vernon Holiness Church, 3219 S. High Ave., Oklahoma City, OK 73129. Celebration of Life Services are scheduled for 1:00pm, Monday, March 12, First Gospel Workers Church, 1463 Perkins Ave., Joplin, Missouri 64801. Burial will follow at Hornet Cemetery.
