David Eastwood

November 7, 1927 — July 26, 2018

David Eastwood of Miami was born to Robert and Tincy (Braxton) Eastwood on November 7, 1927 in Plainview, Texas. He passed on July 26, 2018 at the age of 90, surrounded by his loving family.

David joined the United States Marines in early 1945, where he was stationed in the South Pacific during World War II. In a chance meeting at a Hilton Hotel, David met the love of his life, Margaret Adele Bush. They began seeing each other right away and got married on February 18, 1951 in Plainview, TX. Soon after marrying, they gave birth to their only child, Karen. They also became parents to Jimmy Dan Bush. In the early 1950s the couple traveled the country as gospel singers and preachers before moving to Lubbock, Texas in the late 1950s. They later moved their family to Miami, Oklahoma, where they were owners of two nursing homes, Eastwood Manor and Nursing Center of Miami. After selling the nursing homes, David and Margaret retired to their property on Monkey Island at Grand Lake, Oklahoma.

David was a great man of faith and was always going out of his way to help people, no matter the distance. He never missed an opportunity to visit with someone about Jesus. He loved to share with others that thanksgiving and gratitude are the law of increase. Those that give thanks in all things, good and bad, shall be made glorious.

David was a man of many talents and interests. His wife loved visiting US National Monuments, National Parks, and museums, and to be an aide to her passion he bought a Piper Cherokee 300-6 airplane and taught himself to fly.

David was a family man at heart, and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved watching his country western shows and anything newsworthy.

David was preceded in death by: parents Robert and Tincey Eastwood; loving wife Margaret Eastwood; sisters Faye Horne, Catherine Warder, and Joy Gregg; brothers Pete Eastwood and John Eastwood; son Jimmy Dan Bush; and daughter Karen Elizabeth Flanagan.

David is survived by: granddaughter Gretchen Clark and husband Patrick along with their children Preston and Chloe of Norman, OK; granddaughter Erika Flanagan and fiancée Cassie Gravlee of McKinney, Texas; grandson Luke Flanagan and wife Jessica along with their children Konnor, Kelton, Karson, and Kylor (on the way) of Tulsa, OK; foster daughter Teresea Huber; son-in-law Alan Flanagan and wife Kathy of Haskell, Oklahoma; daughter-in-law Linda Bush of Miami, Oklahoma; brother-in-law Jesse Warder of San Antonio, Texas; brother-in-law George Bush and wife Leanna of Austin, Texas; many adored nieces and nephews; and a host of family and friends.
