Danny Starling, age 72, joined his Heavenly Father on July 20, 2019. Danny was born in Chandler, Oklahoma to Roma and Pauline Starling on January 17, 1947. Immediately after high school, Danny went into military service in the National Guard, where he proudly served for six years.
Danny married Barbara Sporleder on February 17, 1967 and from this union they had a daughter, Tasha. Danny worked for CMI for 44 years, before his retirement. He served in the shop and as a field technician and finally as a parts manager, but most importantly Danny was a resource of knowledge to his co-workers. Danny married Linda Ammons on December 21, 1976 and in this union Danny was blessed with his stepson, Bruce Taylor.
Danny was a master mechanic and was called on often by family and friends to work on their cars. With the help of Brandon Kelly and his brother in law Rick Harris, he finished restoring a red 1957 Chevy, a labor of love which took many years to complete. He was passionate about golf and he loved watching OSU/OU football and basketball. He also enjoyed watching old westerns on TV. Danny was also an avid outdoorsman, enjoying boating on the lake, fishing, skiing and hunting. He had a photographic memory and could recall part numbers, road trips, and all kinds of facts. He was a hard worker since childhood, very generous, and above all he loved his family very much.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents Roma and Pauline Starling. He is survived by his wife Linda, son Bruce Taylor (Misty) of Capistrano Beach, CA; daughter Tasha Starling Johnson of Oklahoma City; brother Tony Starling (Jeanene) of Agra, Oklahoma; sisters Donita Tisland (Loren) of Norman, Nelba Harris (Rick) of Norman, Debbie Dawson (Mike) of Stillwater; grand-daughter Victoria Starling of Oklahoma City; his first wife Barbara Sporleder; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and family.
