Connor Arthur Barba of Norman, Oklahoma, passed away in Kansas on November 2, 2024 at the age of 18.
Connor was born November 12, 2005, in Flagstaff, Arizona, to Megan Barnett and Ted Barba. From an early age, Connor radiated a zest for life and a love for sports, with a particular passion for football, baseball, and basketball. His charismatic personality shone in his ability to make everyone feel welcome. Known for his humor and playful spirit, Connor had a penchant for bright colors, cracking jokes, and playfully giving people a hard time. He was also a dedicated fan of Baker Mayfield, who inspired his unwavering enthusiasm for football.
Connor graduated from Norman High School with the class of 2024, where he built cherished memories and lifelong friendships. After high school, he worked at Longhorn Steakhouse as a Trainer, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues through his hard work and positive energy. Connor aspired to become a plumber and took significant steps toward achieving his dream, recently applying to the Plumbers Union. He was thrilled to learn of his acceptance, ranking an impressive third out of 703 applicants—a testament to his determination and work ethic.
Faith played a central role in Connor’s life. He loved his Victory Church family, contributing actively as part of the production team and often inviting his friends to join him in worship. His community of faith brought him immense joy and strengthened his connection to others.
Among his closest friends, Connor formed a tight-knit group he loved like family. He found happiness not in a specific place but in the people around him. His truest joy came from being surrounded by those he loved and who loved him in return.
Connor is survived by his loving mother, Megan Barnett; his father, Ted Barba, and bonus mom, Sara Barba; his sister, Haley Barba; his brother, Caden McMillan; his sister, Cassidy McMillan; his grandmother, Mary Mattoon, and her husband, Greg; his grandmother, Patricia Rapply, and her husband, Paul Cochrane; as well as a host of extended family members and close friends.
Connor is preceded in death by his grandfather Brent Barnett; grandfather Arthur Barba; and grandmother Dorinda Barba.
Connor’s warmth, humor, and unwavering kindness leave an enduring legacy in the hearts of all who knew him.
