Cody Dain Cox, age 45, of Moore, OK passed away Saturday morning in his home, December 9, 2023.
Cody was born in Norman, OK on July 17, 1978 to Mike and Jan Cox. He attended and graduated from Norman High School and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He learned to weld early on and used that trade throughout his life. In 1998, Cody joined the Navy, where he served 8 years. Once he was out of the Navy, he quickly decided that civilian life wasn’t for him and he’d rather be a soldier, so he joined the Army, and served another 8 years, where he bravely did two tours in Afghanistan.
Cody loved to read, being outdoors (preferably camping) and spending time with his family. He would do anything for his friends and family and loved them fiercely. He made everyone who knew him laugh at his jokes and impressions, be captivated by his storytelling and applaud at all of the endless movie lines he could quote (including character voices).
Our family is grateful to know that Cody is finally at peace and is with his Lord and Savior.
Cody is survived by his loving parents, Mike and Jan Cox; his sister and her family, Courtnie, Brad, Brady & Aron Yelton and Justin, Ashlynn and baby Kayce Dolton; his children Deanna, Vander, Michael and Sophia; his 2 stepdaughters Reina and Sophie and his sweetheart, Kristin.
Cody is preceded in death by all of his grandparents and several military brothers.
Services will be held at Bethel Baptist Church in Norman on Thursday, Dec 14 at 10am, with graveside to follow at Ft. Sill Military Cemetery in Lawton. All are welcome.
