Clifford Logan

June 4, 1931 — December 19, 2016

Clifford Logan of Macomb, OK passed away on December 19, 2016. He was born on June 4, 1931 in Pauls Valley, OK to Robert M. and Nancy (French) Logan. At an early age the family moved to a farm in eastern Cleveland County, where Clifford developed a lifelong love of animals and the outdoors. Clifford attended one-room rural schools, including Etowah and Rocky Point, for his early education and then Noble High School in his later years.

Clifford enlisted in the United States Army on February 21, 1951 where he served until being released to the Army Reserves on November 21, 1952. He remained active in the Reserves for five years. After leaving the Army Clifford worked at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center until his retirement in 1993. On June 21, 1957 Clifford married the love of his life, Mildred Smith, in Lexington, OK. They and their two sons, Mike and Steve, made their home on an acreage southeast of Norman.

After his retirement Clifford dove into his passion for art and began studying painting with Carol Armstrong at the Firehouse Art Center in Norman. Up to that point, Clifford had done most of his drawings with a No. 2 pencil, but upon working with Carol, he discovered a variety of mediums, including his favorite, watercolor. With his art Clifford brought together his passion for animals and the outdoors. He created particularly beautiful western scenes, especially anything involving horses. In addition to creating beautiful works of art, Clifford enjoyed farming, cattle ranching, hunting, fishing, archery, square dancing, traveling, and being with his family.

Clifford was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers: JD Logan, Ira Bob Logan, I.J. “Judge” Logan, and Amos Logan; two sisters: Dovie Gay and Pauline Anderson; and one daughter-in-law: Dayna Logan.

Clifford is survived by: wife Mildred Logan of the home; son Mike Logan of Moore, OK; son Steve Logan and wife Martha of Farmington Hills, MI; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
