Christina M. (Fischer) Breder

September 3, 1953 — March 3, 2022

Christina Margueritte (Fischer) Breder, 68, of Norman, OK, passed away March 3, 2022, surrounded by an army of loved ones.
Christina, also known as “Cha Cha Chrissy” by her family, was born to Max Fischer and Maryanne Fischer in Norman in 1953. She graduated from Norman High School in 1971 before attending design school that would launch her lifelong creative calling.

Christina spent time between Oklahoma and Seattle before landing in Miami by the late 80s. In 1989, she gave birth to her daughter and the light of her life, Tessa Breder. Christina and Tess moved to Norman in 1994 to plant roots, though her work would keep Christina traveling part-time.

She was fiercely talented in a range of design mediums but specialized in silk flowers. This natural gift led Christina to work with an international design firm that would take her all over the world. She was passionate about travel and culture, frequenting destinations like the Philippines, China, and Thailand throughout her career. Eventually she began working closer to home and was most recently with Hobby Lobby, where she forged treasured friendships among colleagues.

Christina’s extraordinary kindness was simply unparalleled. She possessed an incredible ability to make those around her feel seen, heard, appreciated, and safe. She lit up the room with a generous smile that was almost as big as her signature hair. Christina's selflessness and ability to radiate compassion and acceptance was demonstrated in all aspects of her life. Whether it was rescuing an injured animal or caretaking for her 100-year-old mother, Christina put everyone before herself.

Christina was preceded in death by her father. She is survived by her mother Maryanne of Norman, daughter Tessa of Breckenridge, CO, brother Terry Fischer of Norman, sister Candance “Candy” Skarzenski of Dallas, TX, and a slew of adoring nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 24th, 2022, 10am at Studio of the Sooner Theatre (110 E Main Street Norman, across the street from Sooner Theatre) followed by a graveside ceremony at IOOF Cemetery (1913 N Porter Ave).
