Charlotte Kay (Pittman) Whitworth of Norman, OK was born on August 29, 1944 to Charles and Naomi (Gray) Pittman in Shawnee, OK. She grew up and attended school in Shawnee, OK graduating high school in 1962. She attended Oklahoma State University and received her Bachelor’s degree in Education from Cameron University. She later graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Master of Business Administration (MBA). She and O. Dwight Whitworth were married in 1967. In 1969 they welcomed their first daughter, Julie Kay to the world. Their second daughter, Janna Gay, was born in 1972.
Charlotte was a dedicated professional who took great pride in her work. This was especially true in her efforts to help others. Human resources offered her the ability to positively affect the lives of those who needed help. She excelled in the area of helping employees, trainers, military personnel and others to find their place and future endeavors both at work and personally. It was not a rare occurrence to speak with a recipient of her direction and guidance. They expressed their feelings of gratitude when they would talk about what she had done in their lives through job placement.
Charlotte loved to gather with friends and family members whenever possible. She never met a stranger and everyone was welcome. She was an avid reader and she was always excited about being involved with FFA and 4-H stock shows.
She is survived by: two daughters, Julie Whitworth of Norman, OK and Janna Tyler and husband Brad of Hot Springs, AR; brother David Pittman and wife Linda of Sulphur, OK; grandchildren Landen and Luke Tyler of Hot Springs, AR, Sara Chadwick of Stillwater, OK, and Kegan Chadwick of Norman, OK; aunt Elizabeth (Libby) Kirkendal of Oklahoma City, OK; nephews D. Scott Pittman and wife Lisa of Norman, OK, Daniel Whitworth of Ochelata, OK, Christopher McClure of Sulphur, OK, and Jay McClure and wife Misty of Sulphur, OK; nieces Lisa McClung of Indiahoma, OK and Lori Treisa of Norman, OK; former husband O. Dwight Whitworth of Carnegie, OK, and a host of family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
