Carla Deskin

December 22, 1960 — November 6, 2016

Carla Deskin passed away early Sunday morning, November 6, 2016. She grew up in Norman, went to both OU and OSU, and worked at the Webb. After moving to Dallas, TX to work for Whitehall Co. Jewelers in 1995 she got her current dream job. Working at Southwest Airlines in Oklahoma City for over 20 years, she was loved by coworkers and received glowing reviews
from the customers she helped. She won numerous awards in her career at Southwest
including perfect attendance, overall leading performer multiple years, and the Golden Globe
award.

She was a very positive person with a radiant personality. With her distinct Texan accent, she could liven up any room she walked in, cheering up any friend, family member, or stranger lucky enough to be in her presence. Always very kindhearted and caring to everyone, her advice never felt like criticism.

Carla touched the lives of the children of friends and family alike and loved each child deeply. She would give gifts and attend parties whenever possible. She was a part of their lives from birth on into adulthood, and was always there for them.

Her other passion was her OSU Cowboys. She wore, lived, and watched her OSU sports, referring to each team as her “boys” or “girls”. She would always have a comment about how sweet they were or how hard they worked.

Carla was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Irene (Jensen) Deskin, and her brother Carl “Mike” Deskin.

Survivors include her sister Carol Wilson; her sister-in-law Lynn Deskin; her two nephews Justin Deskin with wife Nancy and child Nathaniel and Robert Wilson; her two nieces Geana (Deskin) Wray with husband John and children Jayk, Mike, and Ava and Deana (Deskin) Roberts with husband Dewayne; her uncle Bear Jensen with Aunt Hazel; and her cousins Buzz Jensen with
wife Connie, Jill Jensen with husband Cal Stone, Chris Jensen with wife Kelly and children Blake, Lauren and Sarah, and Lisa (Jensen) Edge with husband Josh and children Luke and Cole.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ronald McDonald House, 1301 N.E. 14th St. Oklahoma City, OK 73117.
