Brian Husted

Brian Husted, 62, Norman, passed away September 13, 2016. He was born in Tulsa on June 5, 1954 to John and Dorothy Roberta (Mohr) Husted.

Brian graduated from Tulsa Memorial High School in 1972. He received a Bachelor of Letters (1978) and a Juris Doctor (1982) from the University of Oklahoma. In 1982, he married Patricia Kessler, of Norman. They have one daughter, Taryn Colon.

After graduation, Brian owned his own legal research company prior to working as an attorney at law firms in Chickasha and Oklahoma City. He then worked as a judicial law clerk at the Oklahoma Court of Civil Appeals. He most recently was a volunteer mediator for the Early Settlement Program of Central Oklahoma. He was a member of United Church of Norman, UCC.

He enjoyed traveling, writing, political discussion, watching NASCAR and attending car shows, and was involved in many volunteer activities, including Jazz in June and KGOU. He also enjoyed visiting with people, and always had a joke or two to share with family, friends and even those he just met.

He is survived by his wife, Patti; daughter Taryn Colon and husband Ty of Oklahoma City; one brother, Paul Husted and wife Linda, of Alpharetta, GA; two sisters, Martha Wells and husband Barney Darr, of Broken Arrow, and Ellen VandenBorn and husband Bill, of Henryetta..

He was preceded in death by his parents.
