Brent Wayne Armstrong

March 14, 1967 — October 3, 2021

Brent Armstrong, 54, of Norman passed away Sunday, October 3, 2021. He was born March 14, 1967 in Norman, Oklahoma to Gail Arlen Armstrong and Josie Grissom Armstrong.
He grew up in Norman, attended public school from Elementary through High School, then attended class at The University of Oklahoma, graduating with a degree in Communications. Brent grew up as a member of the First Baptist Church of Norman.
Brent was preceded in death by his father Gail. He is survived by loving mother, Josie Grissom Armstrong; former wife, Shauna Montez Armstrong, and their children, Emily Gail and her husband Sam Allen, Abby Elizabeth and her husband Carson Kaminski, Blaine Avery, and Molly Grace; grandchildren, Eleanor Allen and Liam Kaminski; brother, David Armstrong and his wife Belinda, their three children, and seven grandchildren; sister, Pam Armstrong Wyrrick and her husband John, their four children, and three grandchildren; and multiple uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Brent was always a high energy personality and loved competitive water skiing, boating and just being around water. He caught this bug from his father who equally loved the lake. He also loved everything automotive. Brent enjoyed his Hummers, Harleys and high performance cars and loved tinkering with them as much as he did riding and driving them. Brent was good about maintaining many of his friendships from high school and college. He loved his kids and often spoke of their pursuits, struggles and accomplishments.
Brent’s other passion was working with his father in the family construction business, focused mainly on the technology side of the business and always trying to incorporate more and more technology into the process. He decided to use the foundation of technology as a Certified Professional Estimator and enjoyed his time as an officer of the Associated General Contractors of America, Oklahoma Chapter as well as his time spent with Leadership Norman.
As a kid growing up in the shadow of the family construction business, Brent became a true DIY guy as an adult around the house. His kids say he was quite creative in his problem resolution practices. If he set his mind to some tasks, he was sure to accomplish his goal. His kids say his laugh was distinct and heard from one end of the house to the other, often admiring his own joke, and sometimes admiring his new DIY accomplishments.
Family asks that in Lieu of flowers, donations be made to Second Chance or The Virtue Center both of Norman. A livestream link will be available to watch the services at www.tribute.care before the scheduled service time.
