Brenda Kaye (Swanson) Ritchey

Brenda Kaye Ritchey, 61, passed away August 13, 2018 in Norman, Oklahoma. She was born on May 14, 1957 to Gerald and Joyce Swanson. Brenda grew up in Norman and graduated from Norman High School in 1975. She worked at York, Corp. for four years and then went work at General Motors, where she retired in 1998 after 21 years. Brenda married Clark William Ritchey on January 2, 1991 in San Antonio, Texas. They were married 27 years. Her hobbies included fishing, camping, cooking, and gardening. Brenda enjoyed life, being with family, and vacationing in Florida. She was a generous person and was loved by many. She will be greatly missed.

Brenda is survived by: husband Clark Ritchey of the home; daughter Christa Ritchey of Norman; son Travis Caldwell of Poteau, Oklahoma; three stepsons: Clark Brian Ritchey of Portland, Oregon, Chad Ritchey of Noble, Oklahoma, and Jason Caldwell of Mustang, Oklahoma; parents Gerald and Joyce Swanson of Norman; sister Jodi Rhea and husband Randy of Wynnewood, Oklahoma; and brother John Swanson and wife Darlene of Noble. She was preceded in death by her identical twin sister, Glenda Faye Swanson, who died as an infant.

Contributions may be made in Brenda’s family to the Bethel Baptist Church Bereavement or Mission Funds.

Brenda’s family will be present to receive friends from 5:00-7:00pm on Wednesday, August 15th at the funeral home. Services to celebrate Brenda’s life will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, August 16th at Bethel Baptist Church (1717 W. Lindsey, Norman), with burial following at IOOF Cemetery in Norman.
