Beverly Sue Funkhouser

March 2, 1930 — November 9, 2020

Beverly (Eller) Funkhouser was born on March 2, 1930 to L. Wayne and Elfleda Eller in Gilead, Indiana. Her father was a Methodist minister , so Beverly was privileged to live in many towns in Indiana as he changed churches. She graduated from high school in Pendleton, Indiana in 1948. Beverly passed away on November 9, 2020.
Beverly loved her family more than anything. She would do anything for any of them. Being a mother and wife was most important to her. She had an interesting and full life doing the work she enjoyed. Beverly started with being employed by the FBI and moved to Washington, D.C. Even though she was very happy with her job with the FBI, she retired from that job after 9 years so when her first child was due to be born she could be home with her child. After that she was employed, but still able to be there with her children. She worked at home for 14 years typing court transcripts for court reporters and judges. She was an accomplished pianist and enjoyed accompanying soloists and choruses, both in high school and for various churches.
Beverly married Gordon Funkhouser on April 6, 1957 and enjoyed almost 60 years being Gordon’s wife before he passed away on March 24, 2017.
Beverly is survived by her three sons and their wives: Gary and Kashmira Funkhouser, Brad and Joanie Funkhouser, and James and LaVonna Funkhouser; five grandchildren, Ashley, Rachel, Ally, Cyrus, and Andrew. She was thrilled to finally become a great-grandma to Oliver, Emery, and Amelia. Beverly is also survived by three siblings: Dr. J. L. Eller of Denver, Colorado; Karen Fahey of Indianapolis, Indiana; and Stanley Eller of Des Moines, Iowa, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Many thanks go to Oklahoma Palliative & Hospice Care for the loving care provided by the nurses. Due to current COVID-19 concerns, there will not be a memorial service at this time.
