Barbara Ann (Bogan) Taylor was born in Wapanucka, OK on May 17, 1937 to George Washington and Lula Mae (Turner) Bogan. She passed at the age of 79 at her home in Norman on Sunday, April 2, 2017.
Barbara worked alongside her late husband, Doyle Taylor, for 50 years at their companies, Doyle’s Electric and later Taylor’s Electric.
Barbara loved the outdoors, and she was happiest when she was fishing at Lake Texoma or on the Blue River or out hunting deer with her family. For many years she held the family record for the largest deer killed. Barbara loved playing “Moon”, especially with the Bogan Family sisters. She was an artist, enjoying many types of painting. As a young girl Barbara played basketball, which translated as an adult into watching the OU Women’s basketball team and her own children’s and grandchildren’s teams.
Barbara had a huge heart and a kind and generous spirit. She was a devout Christian and was a familiar face at Bethel Baptist Church and at their summer camps in Falls Creek. She loved spending time with family.
Barbara was preceded in death by: parents George and Lula Mae Bogan; husband Doyle Taylor; brothers Leon, Wayne, Dan, and Robert Bogan; sisters Eula Mae Lester, Gladys Thrasher, Jean Loeffelholz, and Wanda Epperson.
