Annabella Carmen Buendia, 74, of Norman, Oklahoma passed away June 6, 2023. She was born July 15, 1948 in the town of Bauan, province of Batangas, Philippines to Dr. Cesar Buendia and Teodula (Gonzales) Buendia.
Annabella attended St. Teresa Catholic School K through 12. She then attended St. Joseph College in Quezon City, earning a bachelor’s degree in business administration. She began her career doing clerical work for an insurance company. In 1986, she joined her brother in Oklahoma from Manila. She earned her CNA certificate in healthcare and ended her career as a caregiver. She truly enjoyed taking care of people. Annabella enjoyed spending time with family and liked to attend bible study with fellow caregivers. She traveled around the United States, Philippines and Hawaii and would visit with former classmates in the Philippines and Hawaii from time to time. One of the other things she enjoyed was playing the slots at the casino.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Arthur Buendia, Andrew Buendia, and Eric Buendia.
She is survived by brothers, Archie Buendia of Norman, OK and Alex and wife Sallie of Los Angeles, CA; nephews, Dr. Joseph Buendia and wife Gina, Adrian Buendia and wife Jennii, Axel Buendia and wife Joyce; nieces, Dr. Elaine Kling and husband Brian, Annette Buendia and husband Mel, Alyssa Ancheta and husband Patrick; and a host of great nephews and great nieces.
Wake services will begin at 6:00 PM, Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church in Norman, OK. Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, June 14th at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, Norman.
Memorials may be made in memory of Annabella to the American Stroke Association at www.stroke.org
