Ann Cowan

November 25, 1949 — November 15, 2017

Ann Marie Cowan of Norman, Oklahoma, passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2017, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, surrounded by her family, at the age of 67 years.

Ann Marie Cowan was born on November 25, 1949, in College Park, Maryland. She was the daughter of Clayton and Edna (Robinson) Aylor. She attended Burleson Public Schools in Burleson, Texas, graduating from Burleson High School. She then furthered her education at the University of Texas receiving her Bachelors in Nursing. She then moved to Norman, Oklahoma, and married Terry Cowan on December 5, 1979, and they made their home in Norman. Family always came first with Ann. Her passion for nursing led her to Griffin Memorial Hospital where she retired after thirty-three years. Nursing did not stop when she left work, “that’s who she was.” She enjoyed reading, knitting, spending time with family and pets, particularly her beloved puppy Noni.

She is survived by her husband, Terry Cowan of Norman; her daughter, Erin Colwell and husband Derick of Norman; her son, Matt Cowan of Norman; one brother, Arden Aylor and wife Nelda of Arlington, Texas; her niece Sharon Strebe; and her nephew, Arden Aylor Jr.
