Heaven gained Stanley Lynn Hall on August 25, 2018. Stan took up residence in this world eighty years ago in Anadarko, Oklahoma, where he was born to William Stanley and Rubey Della (Cook) Hall on November 18, 1937. Stan had the privilege of growing up with the same close friends in a school where he excelled in all he undertook, graduating with honors as Valedictorian of his class. Next came the University of Oklahoma where Stan was a member of the ROTC. He graduated in 1960 with a Bachelor of Business Degree With Distinction. Following graduation Stan began a two-year tour of duty in the United States Army at Fort Ord, California. The assignment there included work with Artillery, the Corp of Engineers, and the CDECK experimental group.
Returning to Norman, Oklahoma in 1964 after fulfilling his obligation to the U.S. Army, Stan began his business career as a CPA with Arthur Anderson & Co. He left that firm in 1974 to join Mike McIntosh and Bob Murrell in founding the accounting firm, Murrell, Hall & McIntosh, where Stan was the auditing manager until his retirement. After 32 years at MHM Stan retired to spend more time with his family and to enjoy his life-long hobby of model trains, as well as working with the real trains at the Railway Museum in Oklahoma City. Stan was one of the founding fathers of the Santa Fe Modeler’s Association, now known as The Santa Fe Railway Historical & Modeler’s Society. He also served for eight years on the board of the Oklahoma Railway Museum as president, and spent countless hours helping others to make the museum a place for families to enjoy and to experience the important role that railroads played in this country’s history.
Stan was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, William Ray Hall.
Stan is survived by his wife, Polly Hall of the home, and his three children: Holly L. Schmidt and her husband Rick of Purcell, OK; Greg G. Hall and his wife Brenda of Norman, OK; and Heidi R. LaChance and her husband John of Orange, TX.
