Norman native Samuel King (Skay) McCall, III died Tuesday, August 8, 2017 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Private family services are pending with Tribute Memorial Care.
Skay was born on October 28, 1959 in Norman to Samuel King (Sam) McCall, II and Neita Kuwitzky McCall. He was a graduate of Norman High School where he excelled in marching band and D.E.C.A. After graduation, Skay immersed himself in the family business, S. K. McCall and Co. in Norman, which sold fine men’s and women’s apparel. Skay served the company as a salesman, buyer, manager, and advertising director. During this time, he was also an active member of the Norman Chamber of Commerce. After the closing of the clothing store in 1991, Skay worked for Wilkerson Company which took him to San Diego, California, where he met the love of his life, Cassandra Caudill. They were married on April 18, 1998, making their home in Norman. Skay later entered the career of restaurant management, serving The Mont, The Vista, Das Boot Camp, and Royal Bavaria.
Skay was preceded in death by his parents, Sam & Neita McCall. He is survived by: wife Cassandra of the home, and beloved cats Sophia and Lola; sister Margo McCall Loflin of Norman; nephews David Loflin and wife Beth of Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan and Matthew Loflin and wife Abbey of Norman; and great-nephews Samuel and Oliver Loflin of Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan; as well as many beloved cousins.
Memorial contributions can be made in Skay’s name to Second Chance Animal Sanctuary, 4500 24th Avenue NW, Norman, OK 73069.
