Kristy Ann Collins of Noble was born to Benny Leon and Janice Ann (Treat) Kellogg on April 24, 1972 in Norman, Oklahoma. She entered into the Kingdom of Heaven on the morning of April 18, 2019 after a hard-fought battle with her health. Kristy was a true treasure and her absence will be felt by many.
Kristy was raised in Paden, Oklahoma. She married her husband, Glen Collins, on May 24, 1997 in Norman, and the couple made their home in Noble, Oklahoma.
Kristy had a servant’s heart. She was kind and generous, and her light shined on all who were fortunate enough to cross her path. Kristy volunteered with many organizations, including the Central Oklahoma Alliance of Christian Homeschoolers (COACH), Sunbeam Family Services of Oklahoma City, and Celebrate Recovery Rehabilitation. She opened her home to anyone in need, even going so far as to serve as a foster parent for many years. Kristy thrived on doing things for others and could always be counted on to send cards to her family and friends on their birthdays and anniversaries. She loved to plan parties in celebration of others, especially baby showers, and was rarely without a camera in her hand to take pictures of those she loved.
Kristy was employed by the University of Oklahoma in the Financial Aid office and by Norman Regional Hospital in reception and admissions. She also had a knack for making hair bows, a hobby which she turned into a successful side business. Kristy enjoyed crafting, scrapbooking, and gardening, particularly flowers. She loved to travel, and some of her fondest memories were of trips made with her family to Pikes Peak, Cancun, Florida, and Wisconsin. Kristy was very strong in her faith and was an active member of Alameda Church of Christ in Norman, where she was a key member of the Ladies’ Bible Class.
Kristy was preceded in death by father Benny L. Kellogg; brother Jimmy Kellogg; and uncle Garland Riddle. She is survived by husband Glen Collins of the home; sons Zach, A.J., and Parker Collins of Noble; mother Janice Kellogg of Paden, Oklahoma; sister Barbara LaChelle Kellogg and husband Barry Chandler of Paden; aunt Clebbie Riddle of Norman; and a host of extended family and friends.
A visitation was held at the funeral home on Monday, April 22nd. Services to celebrate Kristy’s life will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, April 27th at Alameda Church of Christ (801 Alameda St, Norman).
