Kathi (Hayes) White

Kathi (Hayes) White was born February 12, 1949, in Duncan, OK to Leroy H. and Earline (Sinclair) Hayes. She passed away unexpectedly on October 12, 2021.

Kathi’s parents moved the family from Duncan, OK to Norman, OK in1957 where she graduated from Norman High School in 1967.

In Kathi’s teenage years, she was an avid tennis player, a member of the “Pepper Upper Club” at Norman High School and played the piano. One of her first jobs was at Mister Roberts while in high school.

After high school, she moved to Texas to attend college and had a career in Banking but made her way back to Norman in 1980 to start a new career in Commercial Real Estate and never left again.

On Christmas Day in 1982, Kathi married the love of her life, David White of Norman, OK. They had a deep and lasting love for one another. They were so different in so many ways, yet the same. You would always find them together unless Kathi was off planning a community event or Closing on a Commercial Real Estate project.

Kathi’s first Commercial Real Estate Broker position was for Don Cies Real Estate, and it was there that her career took off. She then started her own Commercial Real Estate Company and became the President and Founder of Kathi White & Associates. She worked as a Commercial Broker and was heavily involved with Property Management for over 30 years and loved every minute of it. Nothing could stop her from achieving whatever she set her mind to.

Kathi was a movement in Norman all on her own. Her achievements are so great and there is no way to put in to words the impact she had on so many lives. She had a passion for helping other women accomplish their dreams and helped them in any way possible.

Kathi was an integral part of Jazz in June while she was at Brookhaven Village. Her tireless work went towards keeping this event going year after year. She was at Brookhaven Village for the start of The Brookhaven Run, The Easter Egg Bounce, The Tree Lighting Ceremony and many more events. Any event she was planning she always poured her heart and soul into, and they were always one of a kind. She left Brookhaven Village in 2001 after being their Manager and Broker for the entire Shopping Center for many years. Her tenants never let her forget how much they loved and respected her.

Kathi served tirelessly on so many Committees and Boards throughout Norman. She had a passion for the Arts Community, and you could always bet that she was involved with something at The Firehouse Art Center. Whether it was on the Board for the Firehouse or just simply taking one of their art classes that she enjoyed so much. She also served many years in Rotary, NBA, The Norman Board of Realtors, and many more.

Survivors include her two daughters, Julianna L. White of Norman, OK and Jennifer White Howard and husband Steven of Norman, OK, one granddaughter Rachel Glander of Norman, OK, one grandson Christian Howard of Norman, OK, one great-granddaughter Kourtlyn, one great-grandson Korbin, two brothers, Bill and Donna Hayes of Norman, OK and Keary and Barbara Hayes of Ballground, GA, two step-daughters Angie Cantrell and husband Rodney of Stratford, OK, Barbie Pierce and husband Greg of Moore, OK, three step-grandsons Kyle Chaffin and wife Chandra of Stratford, OK, Sooner and Boomer Pierce of Moore, OK, three step-granddaughters, Brooke Juhl and husband Doug of Moore, OK, Korii Pierce of Oklahoma City, OK and Abbye Pierce of Newcastle, OK; four step great-grandsons, Landon, Zane, Gage and Bodyn; six step great-granddaughters, Lyric, Preslee, Paisley, Remington, Eva and Everlie. She had many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins that she was very close to and adored as well.

Kathi was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one step-grandson, Derek Chaffin, and one step great-grandson, Hudson Chaffin.

There will be no service at this time. The family plan to have a Celebration of Life at some point for both her and her husband since they passed so close together.

In closing, you should know that Kathi White was one-of-a-kind, and our family hopes you had the pleasure of meeting her or possibly even working with her at some point.
