Judith Ann Marshall Hagglund was born on February 22, 1941 in her very own home with a doctor and a nurse present. She was born in Niobrara, Nebraska to her parents William W. and Ferne Esther (Cornish) Marshall. Judy attended Niobrara Public School up until she graduated in 1958. She then chose to attend the University of Nebraska, where she later graduated with a B.S. in nursing in 1962.
Throughout the next ten years Judy had moved six times and enjoyed various nursing experiences. Her first daughter, Ann, was born in Japan in 1968 while her father, Howard Hagglund, was on active Naval duty. A while after Judy and Howard returned to practice in Storm Lake, Iowa with her uncle. The family then picked up and moved to Del City, Oklahoma in 1970 in association with the Oklahoma College of Medicine, which led them to move to Norman in 1972 following the birth of their second daughter, Stacy.
Judy continued to live in Norman over the next forty years, watching it grow from a quiet, small city to a large city with excitement around every corner. She held her Nebraska family and football team always dear, but the community of friends she gathered in Norman were the structure that weathered the toughest of storms and the deepest love imaginable. She even became a fierce Sooner fan and season ticket holder; Boomer Sooner! She was involved in the Assistance League of Norman, the American Red Cross, Junior League of Norman, PEO, and Juvenile Services. Judy loved to read, travel, garden, watch Husker and Sooner sports, and, most of all, she loved her daughter, Stacy, her grandson, Braxton, and granddaughter, Amy Jane.
Judy was preceded in death by: her maternal and paternal grandparents, all whom meant so much to her during her early life; her father William; her mother Ferne; and her daughter Ann. She is survived by: her daughter, Stacy, Stacy’s husband and Judy’s son-in-Law, Rick Canada; Stacy’s father; her granddaughters Amy Jane Risser, Sadie Canada, and Kylie Canada; her grandsons Braxton Marshall Clarke and Brody Canada; and her son-in-Law, Braxton’s father Christopher Clarke; her brother William W. Marshall and his wife Sherry and daughters Kristen and Kara and their families; and her dear cousins.
