Joanna Lynn Owen was born November 8, 1963 in Wichita, Kansas to Ronald and Jean Owen. She passed away at her home in Norman, Oklahoma on Saturday, June 16, 2018 surrounded in love by her family. She was a loving mother and wife.

Joanna is survived by: daughter Emma Jean Clouston; husband Daniel Dozier; sister Belinda Jain and husband Michael of Norman; nieces Ashley Johnson and husband Conner of Tulsa and Lyndsay Schlegel and husband Matthew of Norman; brother Robert Owen of Norman and his sons, Robert Owen and J.R. Owen of Norman; great-nephews Logan and Devon Owen of Georgia; great-niece Autumn of Norman; former in-laws Bill Clouston and wife Ethel of Norman; former husband Robert Clouston of Norman; former sister-in-law Carol Proctor and husband David of Norman and their son, David of Graham, Texas, and their daughter, Alyssa Piraino and her husband Joe of Las Vegas, Nevada. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A 1982 graduate of Norman High School, Joanna received her Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Central Oklahoma. Her passion of writing led her to the following newspapers: The Edmond Sun, the Chickasha Express-Star, and finally the Norman Transcript. Joanna wanted to spend more time with her daughter and began a new career, first as a Certified Nursing Assistant and later as a Certified Medical Assistant at Cedar Creek Living Center. Joanna loved to read, especially mysteries. She shared her love of reading with her daughter.
