Esther (Leyva) Ingersoll

Esther (Leyva) Ingersoll was born to Andrew and Raquel (De La Cruz) Leyva on July 30, 1991 in Biloxi, Mississippi. She entered into the Kingdom of Heaven at the too young age of 26.

Esther attended Midwest City High School, where she managed the volleyball team and played the bass clarinet. Shortly after graduation she married the love of her life, Robert Ingersoll, on June 27, 2012. They made their home in Oklahoma City, where they were raising three beautiful children: sons Eli and Lucas and daughter Kaylee. Esther loved children and spent her days working as a Pre-K Assistant at Hayes Elementary School in Oklahoma City.

Esther loved her family more than anything, and especially loved spending time with her children, whether it be taking them to the zoo, the splash pad, the library, or the movies. She was very close to the rest of her family as well, rarely missing their traditional Friday night Family Nights. She enjoyed playing games and was a trivia buff, frequently participating in Trivia Night with family and friends at Old Chicago. As a young girl, Esther’s father taught her how to work on cars, and she took pride in being able to perform her own repairs when her car needed them. Her mother was a major influence in her musical taste, and they often sang together and enjoyed going to concerts. Esther was a caregiver to her family and friends and always thought of others before herself.

She is survived by: husband Robert Ingersoll; sons Eli and Lucas Ingersoll; daughter Kaylee Ingersoll; parents Andrew and Raquel Leyva; mother- and father-in-law Mark and Mary Jane Ingersoll; sister Elena Johnson and husband Juan; sister Emily Ince and husband Caleb; grandparents Ernesto and Josefina Leyva; grandparent Isabel De La Cruz; and a host of extended family and friends.
