Deborah Jill Barnes was born on August 27, 1950, in Ponca City, OK to Charles A. and Rosalie F. (Davis) Rochelle. She passed away on March 1, 2024.
Deborah was a musician, pianist, and singer who performed at her church beginning in 7th grade and continuing throughout her life. She served the States of California and Oklahoma as a dispatcher for the California and Oklahoma Highway Patrol. She served her country by being married to a Veteran for 47 years. She has two children and 3 grandchildren who are also Veteran’s. In the later years of her career, she rose through the ranks of business to become an executive in the largest family photography company at that time. During all the years of her life, she was a faithful wife and loving mother and grandmother. She loved her family unconditionally right up until the end.
Survivors include her husband of Sam Barnes; her daughter Jennell Rightley; son Jason Harris and wife Jennifer; daughter Melanie Derrick and husband Pat; son Aaron Barnes and wife Beth; 16 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Deborah was preceded in death by her parents and her older brother Charles Rochelle Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at Bethel Baptist Church in Norman. Interment will follow at IOOF Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Tribute Memorial Care, and condolences may be shared at www.tribute.care.
