Charles F. "Chuck" Seapy

September 7, 1949 — February 16, 2023

Charles F. “Chuck” Seapy, Jr. was born September 7, 1949, in Enid, OK to Charles F. Seapy, Sr. and Laura Louise (Barrett) Seapy. The family moved to Cedar Rapids, IA in 1957. He attended George Washington High School and was State Swimming Champion for the Breaststroke in 1967. After high school he was drafted into the US Army and served from 1969 –1971. He moved to Norman, OK in 1973 and attended the University of Oklahoma graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education in December 1975. He met the love of his life, Pam, while attending OU. They were married May 28, 1977, and made their home in Norman, OK. Pam and Chuck were blessed with their first child, Jason Paul, in January 1981. Their daughter, Erin Danielle, was born May 1984 (forever hijacking their anniversary).

Chuck was a dedicated educator and taught for 30 years at Kennedy Elementary in Norman. He was a member of OEA and the representative for Professional Educators of Norman from Kennedy. He was a very intelligent man who enjoyed reading and solved puzzles in the newspaper daily with his mother. He was an avid golfer and a huge fan of Sooner sports (especially football). For many years Chuck was a starter at the Jimmie Austin Golf Course assisting with pride and enjoyed sharing stories about who he saw and how the games went.

He attended over 48 seasons of OU home football games with his lifelong friend Lawrence E. “Night Train” Lane. He was an expert in lawn care and kept a well-manicured lawn. He loved his family and friends more than anything. Chuck especially enjoyed sharing his passion for sports and learning with his two grandchildren, John Paul and Ellie.

Chuck passed away surrounded by his loving family on February 16, 2023, following a brief and unexpected illness.

He is survived by his wife, Pamela Seapy of Norman; son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Christine Seapy of Norman; daughter, Erin Seapy of Edmond; sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Chuck Scruggs of Edmond; grandchildren John Paul Seapy and Elida Louise Seapy, many cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family, friends, and his dog Skipper.

He was preceded in death by both parents and infant brother Thomas Francis Seapy, aunts, uncles, other extended family, friends, and beloved pets.
