Carol Ann Barnes was born October 10, 1941 to Burl and Alice (Hunter) Curry in Waynesburg, PA. She entered into loving arms of her Lord and Savior on April 2, 2023. Her family moved to McAlister, OK in 1947, where her father became the Safety Engineer at the carbon mines in Krebs/McAlister. Carol Ann attended all twelve grades in McAlister schools. Graduating in 1959. She played tennis for the high school tennis team. She met her future husband, Aaron, while in high school. They were married in 1960. They were happily married for 62 years. Two wonderful children, daughter Treva and son Kevin were welcomed by loving parents. While living in Southern Oklahoma Carol Ann commuted to Murray State College in Tishomingo. After moving to Purcell she enrolled at OU in Price Business College. She graduated in 1975 as the outstanding Senior women from OU from Price Business College. She was a member of Betta Gamma Sigma International Business Honor Society. She became a CPA in 1976. After working with Aaron and Kevin in various business ventures she and Aaron retired in 2022. She enjoyed playing tennis throughout her adult life and had many tennis friends in Norman. Carol Ann and Aaron traveled in their RV to 35 states. She enjoyed the area in Yellowstone National Park and traveling along the Civil War Trail. One of the real joys of Carol Ann’s life was her 4 precious grandchildren. She loved them unconditionally. She enjoyed doing crafts with them, making special snacks, and playing different games. Carol Ann was predeceased by her daughter, Treva, sister, Mona Lee, and her parents.
A Celebration of Carols life will be2:00pm Friday April 7, 2023 at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Norman.
