Bonnie Beckenhauer Bennett was born October 7, 1947 in Guthrie, Oklahoma to Rex and Maxine Beckenhauer. She passed away in Oklahoma City on February 19, 2022.
She always said her greatest accomplishment was her family. She met and married Harold Bennett soon after graduating OU in 1969 where she studied Speech and Drama Education. She gave birth to her son, Kelly, when she was 27 and to her daughter, Ashley, 3 years later.
Bonnie was a creative soul. She made everything around her beautiful. She didn’t believe in half-measures and put her heart and soul into everything she started. She got her pilot’s license, designed and decorated her Muskogee log cabin from the ground up, perfected and sold her cinnamon rolls in a downtown Tulsa bakery, and set the standard for the Antique Mall in Edmond by decorating and selling from the shop in the front windows.
Survivors include one son, Kelly Bennett; one daughter, Ashley Salinas and husband Larry Salinas; three granddaughters, Emily Bennett, Kallie Salinas, and Ava Bennett; four grandsons, Noah Bennett, Zackary Bennett, Karsten Salinas, and Christopher Bennett; one brother, Rodney Beckenhauer and wife Yolanda.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Rick Beckenhauer.
